This is a preliminary schedule with anticipated event and
swim meet dates only. It is provided so that HOST families can make long
range summer travel, camp or other plans. The complete schedule of all
meets will be published in February 2005. The HURRICANE Calendar is
available on this website at:
All swimmers must be at the pool by 5:00 PM sharp for each regular season
meet. All regular season meets start promptly at 6:00 PM. Meets normally
last until 9:30 PM. RSL rules require meets to be delayed for lightening
strikes (1 hour) or thunder (30 minutes). Rain alone will not normally
delay a meet. Normally it is better for the visiting team to take a delay
and complete the meet, than to return a second night to complete.
There will be three home and three away meets. Directions to all away swim
meets will be posted on the HOST website (www.hohurricanes.org) and will
be sent via email before each away meet. The directions may also be
printed on slips of paper to be made available on the day of the meet
during morning practice and to those who meet in the afternoon to caravan
to the meets.
Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at 6:30 PM – 2005 Swim Season Kick-off,
Registration and general membership meeting at Hampton Oaks Elementary
School gymnasium. This meeting is mandatory for parents or guardians of
each swimmer. This meeting will introduce the HOST Board of Directors (BOD)
and Coaching Staff, review the 2005 calendar of events, explain the
registration process and requirements, and explain the HOST budget. This
will be the first and best opportunity for parents to register their
swimmers. Team swim suits, caps and goggles may be ordered. HURRICANE
T-shirts and beach towels will be available for purchase.
Monday, June 06 – Evening swim practice begins. Times and ages TBD.
Friday, June 17 – Team Photos and Season Kick Off Party
Saturday, June 18 – Mock (practice) Meet.
Monday, June 20 – Swim practice shifts to morning. Times and ages
TBD.
Wednesday, June 22 – Swim Meet vs. Aquia Harbour
Wednesday, June 29 – BYE
Wednesday, July 06 – Swim Meet at Chancellor
Saturday, July 09 – Swim-A-Thon
Monday, July 11 – Swim Meet vs. College Heights
Thursday, July 14 – Swim Meet at Curtis Park
Wednesday, July 20 – Swim Meet at Grafton
Monday, July 25 - Swim Meet vs. Lee's Hill
Saturday, August 06 – Division Finals for selected swimmers.
Sunday, August 07 – End-of-Season Awards Banquet
Saturday, October 01 – Newly elected HOST BOD assumes
responsibility for the HOST.
